But the reason why you're attracted to this ragtop in particular is because it combines some of the best GT performance design cues from the era. You can see the lines that made us all fall in love with the original pony car, and 1969 is when the long hood and short deck look was maximized. This design is arguably the pinnacle of the first-generation Mustang. This Mustang has been enjoyed since it was restored, so there are a few minor flaws. The factory-correct and seldom-seen Indian Fire red provides the perfect backdrop to really bring out the new aggressive custom touches on this coupe, and it looks amazing when contrasted up against the new, shiny chrome bumpers and brightwork. But what turns this desire into action is when you look a little deeper and see that it's been wonderfully restored and has a 4-speed that beckons any driver to go bend this beauty into the corners. It's hard not to take notice of a 1969 Ford Mustang GT convertible, especially when it's in a great color for its period and has a lively 351W V8 under the hood. This is a very honest, well-loved, nicely documented classic Mustang with an extremely short owners list, excellent options, black California plates, a clear title, and Marti Report.INDIAN FIRE RED! 351W WITH 4-SPEED, PWR CONVERTIBLE TOP, FRONT DISCS, MARTI RPRT It tends to leak a bit and is currently bypassed though the fan is in good working order. Since this was originally a "Heater Delete" car, the family installed a factory heater system back in the '70s. The radio is not turning on but we're going to take a look at that and if its something simple we will address. The gauges are all in working order along with the power top. It is comfortable and very nice to cruise in. The interior has had a few items replaced over the years such as carpet, seat and dash covers. Luckily, the last engines leaky disposition provided plenty of added protection to its 100% rust-free undercarriage! There are no leaks now and the undercarriage is as straight and rust-free as they come! Otherwise, be sure to see the video where I walk the lower portion of the car with a magnet. The only rust appearing on the entire car is in the lower passenger door corner. The body is in very good overall shape with some age-inevitable imperfections. The car has seen one repaint of its rare Indian Fire in the 1980s and still shines. The added Classic Magnum 500 Rally Wheels are wrapped in 215/70R 14's but are aged, hardened and will need immediate replacing. The 302ci was replaced 4,000 miles ago in 2005 with a brand new 351 Windsor Crate from Summit and runs beautifully bumping its original 230HP horsepower to 290HP with the added reliability of a new, tight motor! The shifting is tight, the braking responsive and the suspension feels good. Over the last few years it hasn't been getting used much and the family made the difficult decision of passing it along to someone that will appreciate and care for it. A few options have been added over the years including Rally wheels, proper center console and heat as it was common for cars ordered for Hawaii to have heater delete. It came equipped from the factory with the 302ci V8, C4 Crusie-o-Matic transmission, 2.79 axle, power steering, power front disc brakes, power top, power clock and more. This San Jose built example was repainted once in its super rare factory Indian Fire of which only 624 were finished in. It still wears the old, original black and gold California license plates, the last of which were issued at the end of 1969.
